Hi everyone I’m Matt, a 34-year-old mechanical engineer. I started this FIRE blog because I want to have control over my destiny and not have it dictated by others. I want to travel and explore but still have a solid home base to come back to. I also want to volunteer and help those less fortunate than me. I don’t want to live in a tiny house or anything crazy like that. I just want to maximize every dollar I make. My goal is to reach FIRE by age 40. I’ve put a lot of effort into improving and optimizing my personal finances and hopefully, I can share some helpful info with you!
Most of my investing knowledge is based on the Canadian system but some lessons are just good practice.

When I’m not making money I like hiking, snowboarding, and salsa dancing.
